Hamurana Reserve

HAMURANA RESERVE

This reserve, next door to the Omokoroa Bowling Green, is one of two on the northern coast of the peninsula and one that allows vehicular access close, but not, to the beach. There is still a short walk and some stairs before you get to the water. There is only limited parking at the bottom of the access drive so on a busy day there will be an even longer walk from the road parking.

There are a couple of picnic tables, a few nice trees for shade but no sand to sunbathe on. The foreshore is large rocks, part of the seawall protection works, and thus the stairs are provided to allow easy access to the water.
