Walnut Grove

Joseph Gellibrand purchased land and built a kauri homestead at the end of the peninsula and the walnut trees here are a legacy of his extensive plantings.

Now it is a pleasant access way from Myrtle Drive to the walkway around the cliff top on the northern side of the peninsula. An easy short loop walk from here will take you out to the Wai-Huri pa site at the end of the point and back to the Gerald Crapp Reserve then via Gellibrand Place back to Walnut Grove.

Walking in the other direction will take you to the end of Bramley Drive.
