NELL'S DELL

Nell's Dell is not really a destination; it is an access way between Owen Place and Omokoroa Road. Across Omokoroa Road are steps leading down to Beach Grove then on to the reserve area at the waterfront. The footpath alongside Omokoroa Road also 'detours' through Nell's Dell.

Following Beach Grove, the Nell's Dell path, Owen Place, a right-left into Waterview Terrace and the access to the cliff top walkway provides a convenient, practically traffic-free, means to cross the peninsula.

In October 2021 a grove of rare Tainui trees was discovered. These have since been declared the largest specimens of this tree in NZ. See report from Lizard News.
